Lockheed Martin Corporation Acquires Two Moving Vessel Profilers (MVP300)

As part of Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), Irving Shipbuilding Inc. along with Lockheed Martin will be building and outfitting two Arctic and offshore patrol ships (AOPS) for the Canadian Coast Guard. These ships, Donjek Glacier and Sernilik Glacier, operate as the primary protection enforcement and conservation vessels on the east coast of Canada. 

For AOPS 7 & 8 AML Oceanographic will proudly be supplying MVP300 systems to Lockheed Martin. The MVP300 is a self-contained profiling system capable of sampling the water column to depths of 300m from a vessel speed of 12 knots and deeper depths at slower speeds.  The system provides near vertical profiles for oceanographic data collection of Sound Velocity, Conductivity/Temperature/Depth (CTD), and other parameters for various operations including the calibration of multibeam sounder systems for hydrographic operations.
